55th Biennale Venice PORTUGAL PAVILLION Joana Vasconcelos

Welcome on a magical Ali Baba cave!
Or maybe you are on board of a vassel at i Giardini of la Biennale in Venice.
A super quilted scenario of a modern Julius Verne.
The portuguese pavillion was an enchanting world made of psycadelic lights,
strange marine creatures all made by tapestry.
Genial !

Trafaria Praia (2013) is a project by Portuguese Artist Joana Vasconcelos. Finding herself without an exhibition space, the artist quilted the exterior and the interior an old Portuguese ferry, fitted it out with her installation. This is such a fascinating and incredibly complex project. Please have a look at the photos of it’s making and the video. EPIC!! Thank you Yellowtrace.
